Stephen Slater’s fascinating illustrated presentation will explain how, when and why Heraldry evolved. We will be taken back to the days when Knighthood flourished and Heralds were given duties connected with the bearing of arms.

November 12th 2015 The Battle of Waterloo, 1815 - Dr. Chris Scott

In June of this year the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo was commemorated. This battle finally ended Napoleon's attempt to regain the French throne - but did Wellington win or was he saved by the Prussians or the mud? Tonight Dr. Chris Scott, historian and battle tour leader, will give us an illustrated account of this decisive event.

December 10th 2015 Salisbury Cathedral - the making and unmaking of a masterpiece

Salisbury Cathedral was built between 1220 and 1266 during the reign of Henry III when the massive, plain style of the Normans gave way to the Early English and Gothic styles. Our speaker this evening is a Blue Badge Guide and will reveal less well-known features of this architectural and historical delight.
